What Can I do to get ready?
SKATE! Skating every chance you get is one of the best things you can do to prepare for your roller derby journey. Inside, outside, skating rink, skate park, doing the laundry, on your lunch break, this will all help get those skate legs underneath you! We do not require previous experience but knowing how to skate will give you a little more confidence during this process!
Be Active! People come to roller derby with all kinds of previous experience, from life-long athletes to those who have never played a sport in their life. Start getting your body ready for all the challenges roller derby will throw at it. Get that heart rate up and work on breathing with some cardio, implement stretching into your day, strengthen that core & those legs and work on balance and agility.
Get to know us! Check out out social media accounts and website often and join us at our events and watch some derby bouts. We are always seeking volunteers and NSO’s (non-skating officials) and this is a great way to see things up close and contribute to the league
